Pam opens up about reality show

Pamela Anderson sees her new reality show as more “self-portrait” and “art project” than a typical reality series.

In the July/August issue of Radar magazine, Pamela Anderson opens up about her new TV venture and more.

Tentatively titled “Pam- Girl on the Edge,” the series is scheduled for an eight episode run this summer on E!

Anderson offers a first-hand glimpse into her current life, which is quite revealing given some of the gossip about her that has sprung up in recent months. A few things that have come up about her recently include her personally manning a lemonade stand at a charity yard sale in Malibu, and her “writhing” on the back of a Harley Davidson nude while onstage at a cabaret show in Paris.

The show, which is even considered by her executive producer as more of a documentary than a reality show, will have Anderson involved in directing and editing.

Her two children by Tommy Lee will be “strictly off-limits” while shooting, but Anderson admits that the audience may get “occasional back of heads and stuff.”

It is surprising that the sexual icon who conquered Playboy and the cultural phenomenon “Bay Watch” could have possibly once thought of L.A. so naively. She says, “I thought when I came to L.A. people would have parrots on their shoulders,” she says. “I still don’t understand where that concept came from. And I thought for sure photographers would have pointy shoulders and big hats. “Yes, pointy shoulder pads and parrots. And hats.”

The interview took place while Anderson was preparing to appear at a USO show at Camp Pendleton outside of San Diego. Comedian and TV personality Kathy Griffin, was also performing for the troops, and gave her opinions on Anderson’s claims that her upcoming TV series will be more legitimate than a typical reality show.

“A reality show is more humiliating,” Griffin said. “A docu-series is for people who don’t want to admit they have a reality show. J. Lo’s is also a docu-series. I’m not famous enough to have a docu-series.”
